[REVIEW] MAJOLICA MAJORCA VS HEROINE MAKE mascara

It is time for another round of COMPARISON review~

Today will be the battle between popular MASCARAS from my all time favorite MAJOLICA MAJORCA and the rising brand HEROINE MAKE.

As you can see both brands are all out to capture the heart of every vain girl in the universe!!! (ok sorry i exaggerated)

In terms of web page design MAJOLICA MAJORCA's perfectly done interactive flash page triumphs against HEROINE MAKE's rather boring catalog page.

Due to this reason it is easier to get pictures/information of MJ's product yes im biased :x

Ok cutting the chase, the battle is between MAJOLICA MAJORCA's LASH EXPANDER FRAME PLUS mascara against HEROINE MAKE's IMPACT FRAME & CURL mascara.

(what's with their long names and 'frame')

MAJOLICA MAJORCA's LASH EXPANDER FRAME PLUS mascara (6g)

 HEROINE MAKE's IMPACT FRAME & CURL mascara (7.5g)

As you can see their packaging looks really similar however i prefer MJ's one due to the shorter wand for better control and a slightly thinner cap for a better grip. Trust me, that few mm makes a difference!

You may have noticed that the applicator is different!! MJ's applicator is a flat comb type and HE's is a thick brush type. BUT i chose this 2 to compare because both of them have a flat surface and the other side is a convex comb/brush.

This is the effect after using the mascaras.
LEFT SIDE: Heroine Make
RIGHT SIDE: Majolica Majorca

LENGTHEN

i personally feel that their lengthening effect is the same.
MJ's has fibers hence the lashes looks more natural and 'real' looking. On the other hand HE's clumps up alot.

VERDICT: TIE

VOLUME

I used the flat side of both mascara as base layer and it is very obvious that HE's mascara coats a very thick layer on my lashes. So much so that i feel that it has clumped up too much causing my lashes to look like spider lashes ∑(O_O；) also it causes a jagged surface further amplifying the spider leg effect...
On the other hand, MJ's fibers glides along my lashes and thickens them. The only down side is that the fibers may stick out in all directions.

VERDICT: HEROINE MAKE

CURL HOLDING POWER

Both hold on to the curls nicely and stays curled after wearing them for the whole day. -applause-

VERDICT: TIE

WATERPROOF

Both are waterproof and does not smudge or wad so ever even though i have oily lids/perspire easily/squint my eyes when laughing.

VERDICT: TIE

EASE OF REMOVAL

As they have great staying power means that it is inevitable that they are a pain in the ass to remove.

-please remove your mascara properly if not it may cause your lashes to fall off prematurely-

VERDICT: TIE

FALL OUTS

Unfortunately for MJ one or two fibers may fall off.

VERDICT: HEROINE MAKE

SCENT

THIS POINT MADE ME HATE HEROINE MAKE'S MASCARA! It gives off this cheapo make up removal smell which turns me off! the smell is unbearable for me!!
MJ's mascara is scentless.

VERDICT: MAJOLICA MAJORCA

EASE OF APPLICATION

Obviously MJ won as HE's applicator is really thick, causing it to be almost impossible to use it for my lower lashes! (maybe it's my short lashes fault but MJ's is a breeze to use~ so far i havent found any mascara which beats MJ's applicator)


VERDICT: MAJOLICA MAJORCA

CONCLUSION

As you can see.. both have their own strength and weaknesses. It really depends on the look you are going for.
Love spider legs lashes----> use HEROINE MAKE
Love natural looking lashes----> use MAJOLICA MAJORCA (of course if you are also a MJ)

I have played around with HE's and i found out that you can avoid the clumpy look by only using the brush side, this can reduce the chunk up of mascara. However more than 3layers and it will still clump!

For me, i definitely will not repurchase this heroine make's mascara ever!
FYI this MJ mascara is already my 2nd one~ (ﾉ´▽｀)ﾉ♪
